This occurs once a semester. Personally, I do not have time, energy, or NEED to do the same. I can't keep up with my own ideas.

IF you are a truly gifted artist, you would have no need to do this. Anyway, no one can see the big picture by attending my class once, several times, or ever. I can determine the students being sent mainly because of how they behave in class. They are VERY informal, and have Single White Female tendencies. By informal I mean they constantly ask questions throughout class, they become frustrated easily, and they walk out to the bath room with out warning to me or their class mates. Please teach your students how to behave in an artistic, real dance setting. These are formal & organized classes.

I am excited to get back to the academic girls that normally attend next week :-)!

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Don't let resistance keep you from practicing your art, and much more important honing in on your craft. Practicing with friends and hanging out, all sorts of things can in the end be a block to truly getting the work done in bettering yourself.

DON'T GIVE IN TO RESISTANCE. GET IT DONE! When you feel those deadly urges to resist practicing and working on craft, DON'T!

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">THIS CHAPTER FROM ARTIST'S WAY HELPED ME TREMENDOUSLY.

Not completed related, but it is my ramblings page. I gave dancers opportunities to perform that they never acknowledged me for, neither then or now. Not as they do now, where they thank their performance mates publicly and abundantly. I am getting closer and closer to getting through my hurt from that. On the flip side, I have come to realize, without having the troupe, I have been able to grow so much, whereas before I would have been held back.
Things really do play out as they should. Thank Heaven! I really appreciate the "likes" and love I feel from our Strong Middle Eastern Community in Nashville. That's who I love / want to appreciate My Dance Work! Humbled & Appreciative I am...to have learned so much from them! Their evaluation of me is not tainted with jealousy and arrogance. One of my theater friends has a great way of putting this : On this show it's not your turn on stage. But support this other show, and that way they'll support your show, and we avoid looking like 10th graders. Just an idea. Humility is one of those values that gets lost in Belly Dance World. I really can not understand this
:-/! My own belly dance community refuses to acknowledge my existence, but makes sure I hear how I am excluded I am ;-)! Well, that is alright. Because the people that hire me tell me they oppose the
"Superstar" Attitude, but love working with me because of its absence. I have seen many of my dance dreams come true already. So,any who, hush up about
your own body, butt, hair, dance moves, and get your nose out of the air.
Instead, go take a ballet class a few times a week, and they will knock the ego
right out of you!

These words were written for my friend Hamish, by Ren Faire Performer Owen Phyfe. Owen lost his battle to cancer in recent weeks. Owen was a talented artist, with a resoundingly, beautiful voice. Thank You Owen for leaving us with great memories, words, and art.
Thinking on Labyrinthe Belly Dance today - October 1999. Clay's creative concept began that year, and I am excited to see how it continues and grows ;-). I am grateful to him & many others for thinking of me, and giving me opportunities along the way. I don't want to be popular - Lord knows I am not popular - but just grow as a person & artist. My journey has reunited me with friends from those first years recently. The people that are the right people, and kindred spirits, have stayed true.

Oh yeah. And more famous words from my high school friend Scott Crain, "Officer, What happens at Ren Faire stays at Ren Fair!" ;-)Reischahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01597762040430720921noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1586085497267889522.post-26526881937296688612012-09-10T13:53:00.001-07:002012-09-10T13:53:42.126-07:00Random, Loved! It is really, really special when the people that know this dance ask me to come party with them! Oh and duck duck goose with the kids was an order!

Dude let me tell ya! It was a hot one. I've caught wind that I "dance til I sweat." It really only took a dance, and it was like hangin' at the sauna ;-)! Well, some would not have made it through, and what a shame. Cause we rocked it! No treys, & fancy gimmicks, just dance! Danced at an Egyptian Baby Shower and then at Sahara Hookah.

To top it off, I studied with New York Dancer Ranya Renee! In dance arts, I have learned it's more important to take direction, and not lead out, especially in a class with Ranya. I like to get my butt whooped, as it is truly the only way to grow!
